In this edition, the Spotlight is on...

Anton Srdanovic

Anton, a New York City native, is an outstanding example of the wave of younger Republicans who are assuming positions of leadership in local politics. As the Republican candidate for the 14th (Silk Stocking) Congressional District in the 2002 elections he earned a higher percentage of the vote than any of the three previous Republican candidates.

Currently, Anton is a Vice President of the Met Club and is chairman of the Club Relations Committee. He is also a district leader in the 65th Assembly District. During his 15 years of political work he has been active on many election campaigns including those of Roy Goodman, Andrew Eristoff, John Ravitz, Charles Millard, and others. He also served as President of the NY Young Republican Club.

Nicholas Viest

Nick personifies the Republican ideal of community service. He chairs the Met Club's Community Outreach Committee which recently ran a project to repaint graffiti covered mailboxes and to call-in to the city various quality-of-life problems they were able to identify.

Nick is also President of the 19th Precinct Community Council which works as a liaison between the local police precinct and the neighborhoods it serves. He has served on Manhattan's Community Board 8 since 1997 where he is co-chairman of the Street Life Committee and formerly was co-chairman of the Safety Committee. Nick is also an active member of the East 79th Street Neighborhood Association and the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association.

Just in case you think Nick leads a couch-potato life, he also served for several years as the Republican District Leader in the 73rd District and he ran for City Council in 2001.

Nick lives with his wife Georgiana and works in sales for the Lindenmeyr Central paper company.

Erika Hauschildt-Roberts

The Met Club Spotlight is aimed at Erika in recognition of her outstanding performance as this year's Arrangement Chairman for the Metropolitan Ball (2003).

The ball, which added substantially to our bank account, was declared a success by all who attended. Held at the Union League Club, the ball honored Republican State Committee Chairman Sandy Treadwell.

Erika, whose association with the Met Club covers nearly two decades, also serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee. In that capacity she provides a firm hand of guidance and direction for the club's controlling body.

In her free time, Erika works as a real estate agent. She lives on the West Side with her daughter and husband, Clyde.
