Dennis,
a former Treasurer of the Met Club, is
presently the Deputy Director for
Expenditures of the NY State Financial
Control Board. The Board has the
responsibility of review and oversight with
respect to the financial management of the
New York City government and certain public
authorities. It is made up of the Governor,
the Mayor of NYC, the State and City
Comptrollers, and 3 private citizens
appointed by the Governor. The Board must
review and report on the city’s four-year
financial plan at least quarterly and must
notify the city if a financial plan or
modification does not conform to the
standards of the New York State Financial
Emergency Act of the City of New York.

Dennis is a 1993
graduate of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School
of Government where he received an MPA.
Prior to the Kennedy School he spent sixteen
years at Citibank, mostly in operations and
human resources. Subsequent to Harvard he
worked on Rudy Giuliani’s 1993 mayoral
campaign and then spent 8 years at AIG in
financial control. He also served
twenty-six years in the U.S. Marine Corps,
both active and reserve duty, and retired as
a Lt. Colonel in 1996. Dennis also holds an
MBA from New York University and an MA in
military history from the American Military
