Denis J. De Lisle

Dennis, a former Treasurer of the Met Club, is presently the Deputy Director for Expenditures of the NY State Financial Control Board.  The Board has the responsibility of review and oversight with respect to the financial management of the New York City government and certain public authorities.  It is made up of the Governor, the Mayor of NYC, the State and City Comptrollers, and 3 private citizens appointed by the Governor.  The Board must review and report on the city’s four-year financial plan at least quarterly and must notify the city if a financial plan or modification does not conform to the standards of the New York State Financial Emergency Act of the City of New York. (1975)

Dennis is a 1993 graduate of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government where he received an MPA.  Prior to the Kennedy School he spent sixteen years at Citibank, mostly in operations and human resources.  Subsequent to Harvard he worked on Rudy Giuliani’s 1993 mayoral campaign and then spent 8 years at AIG in financial control.  He also served twenty-six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, both active and reserve duty, and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1996.  Dennis also holds an MBA from New York University and an MA in military history from the American Military University.
