Ian Walsh Reilly Elected As New Club President

The Metropolitan Republican Club is pleased to announce the results from the 2019 Annual meeting of the Metropolitan Republican Club. They are as follows:

324 – Ian Walsh Reilly
270 – Robert Morgan Sr.

Ian Reilly has been a member of the storied Metropolitan Republican Club for over eight years, and for the last four years has served as two-term Chairman of the club. Under his leadership, the club has seen an over four fold increase in both memberships and funds.

Ian Reilly ran a forward looking campaign that focused on building upon the recent successes inincreased content and events,expanding social media and outreach, the restoration launch of the organization’s beautiful 1930 neo-Georgian

clubhouse, and unification and strengthening the New York Republican Party and leading the club and local GOP into the
future.

There were approximately 150 good-standing members in attendance at the annual meeting, with many proxy votes given.

Each candidate was allotted 10 minutes each to give their final arguments, with 10 additional minutes each allotted to supporters to speak on the candidates behalf.

The meeting was called to order at 7:50pm and was adjourned at 9:30pm, with the vote/ proxy count continuing for some time thereafter, with a vote tally finished after midnight.

The Metropolitan Republican was founded in 1902 by supporters of Teddy Roosevelt from the then 29th Assembly District.
